I'm writing this mainly as a way to keep my thoughts in order, but also so I'll have something to do while I wait to be rescued. I'm pretty lucky that this notebook managed to escape getting too soaked by virtue of being in my pack when I swam to shore. I took inventory of myself a little bit ago, and apart from a twisted ankle that I got from jumping off the burning deck of the “Sea Breeze,” I'm relatively unhurt. A bit cold, though. Luckily, I had my lighter on me and was able to start a small fire. I'll explore this place in the morning.
June 13, 2012.
Have explored the entire island-if one could really call it that. It's no more than two miles wide and three miles long, covered in coarse grass and rocks. The only living things on it besides me are sea birds and tiny lizards. I tried catching one, but it scurried under a rock. I don't know what I'm going to do for food. There's some moss-covered rocks down on the west shore that might work.
'Later'
The moss was edible, but only just. I had to fight to keep my gorge down. But still, food is food in this place. I've taken an inventory of what I had in my pack when I went into the water. Notebook and pencil, my lighter, a pocketknife, and best of all, two bags of fine white heroin. My phone's busted to shit, though. Even if it wasn't, there's no way I'm getting a signal out here. Guess this means my trial's postponed, too. Those old farts on the Medical Board can kiss my ass.
Man, I need some junk. I've got nothing to cook it with, so I'll have to resort to snorting it.

Holy shit, that was some potent stuff! Note to self-next time, don't snort as much. The last thing I want is to overdose on this godforsaken spit of rock. Still, I feel much better. I needed that sleep, especially after what happened. I had been up on deck talking to some of the other passengers when there was this loud bang. Next thing I know, the entire fucking boat is on fire. I managed to get to my room and grab my bag, then over the side I went.
I need to add more fuel to the fire so that any rescue planes or ships will be able to see it from a distance.

Haven't written in here for the past few days. Been way too busy. I managed to get a huge bonfire going on the beach. With luck, I'll be rescued soon. Surely by now someone must have heard about the 'Sea Breeze'. I also managed to catch a few of those lizards. They're not too bad roasted. Gonna have to be careful, though. My lighter's about out of fluid, and I was never in the Scouts. It gets pretty cold here at night, even with a fire, and there's nothing I can use to build a shelter.

Someone has to come! They just have to! I'm starving, and two nights ago it poured. I'm still soaked through. The lizards are becoming harder to catch, and worst of all, my lighter ran out of fluid yesterday. I don't know what I'm going to do for food.

I caught a sea bird. It bit my hands so I broke its neck. No fire, had to eat it raw. God, it was nasty. Still, it was the first solid food I've had in days. I had a heroin chaser. There's still plenty of that left, thank god. Maybe I should just snort it all and float away... No! Can't think like that! I'll be fucked if I'm dying here! I'll get rescued, damn it! Someone will come!
July 2.
It's so simple! Why didn't I think of it before? I've got plenty of meat here, and all I have to do is carve it out. I got good and high, then I did it as quickly as I could, binding up the wound in my thigh with the bits from my shirt. At first, my stomach wanted to rebel, but I managed to keep the meat down. Though is it still considered cannibalism if you're eating yourself? Either way, I've got food-for now.
???
Someone has to come soon I need to see a boat I'm writing this with my right hand my left's been gnawed down to the bone and when I look below my waist I see bone and the heroin is gone I don't know what day it is or what month but I hope someone comes soon and I can only imagine what I must look like to other people
They taste like lovely sausages just like lovely sausages....
